First: Get into the Gruppe Sechs van and drive to the casino, to the security tunnel. You are being let in and have to drive down the tunnel, where your credentials are being checked and you are able to park the van. Then, go down to the vault area, proceed through the manhole.
Cayo Perico is the latest update for GTA Online, which offers players a diamond heist job that is particularly troublesome, but certainly worthwhile.. This guide will help you complete the Cayo Perico Heist in the quickest way possible.
Tunnel Boring Machine is an optional prep mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the The Diamond Casino Heist update. It is a freeroam mission needed to progress The Diamond Casino Heist. This mission can only be played if the player sent a picture of the sewer tunnel to Lester during Setup: Casino Scoping. Completing this setup gives players the option to enter the vault. Having different approaches to the new casino heist is one of the major new features added to GTA Online via the DLC. One of the three approaches is called The Big Con approach (the others being the Aggressive and Silent and Sneaky approaches). As the name suggests, you con your way into and out of the casino using various disguises. There are three ways of tackling the GTA Diamond Casino heist, and those are: Aggressive, Silent and the Big Con. The first is definitely the most, well, aggressive to say the least. There are so many ways you can approach this job that it may get confusing, especially to new players. You may find your own way through, but read on if you want to get it done without the thought and effort.
Cayo Perico Heist Walkthrough
Talk to Miguel Madrazo
In order to start the Cayo Perico Heist you need to travel to the East Vinewood and enter the Music Locker club. This obscure nightclub can be found right under The Diamond Casino & Resort, the entrance to which can be seen on the north side of the ground floor of the casino.
Once you enter the club you will find Miguel Medraza sitting at the table with some ladies. Speak to him and he will ask you to deal with his family's longtime foe Juan Strickler, also known as El Rubio.
Purchase Kosatka Submarine
The discussion with Miguel will prompt you to purchase a nuclear submarine Kosatka for as much as $9,085,000. So be sure to have this amount of cash to continue with the heist.
You can purchase the submarine using an app on your mobile phone through Warstock Cache & Carry shop.
Gather Intel
The staff of the submarine will introduce you to a control panel, which will help you execute the heist on the Cayo Perico island. Your first task will require you to gather intel on El Rubio's compound.
Here you need to scope four types of locations:
- Infiltration points
- Escape points
- Compound entry points
- Points of interest
Out of eight possible infiltration points the best one is Drainage Tunnel, which is located right under the El Rubio's compound. In order to scope this point you need to simply take a boat to the compound at the southern edge of the Cayo Perico island and take a dive under the water.
Out of four possible escape points the best one is Kosatka. It's the easiest one as you don't need to scope anything, since you already own the submarine.
Out of six possible compound entry points the best one is Drainage Tunnel. You've already scoped this one earlier, so there is no need to waste time on the other ones.
Out of six possible points of interest the best are Power Station and Control Tower. Both are located in the north of the island and are really easy to scope.
Make Preparations
Once you've scoped all four points you can start making preparations, which include four types of set-ups:
- Approach vehicles
- Equipment
- Weapon loadout
- Disruption
Out of six possible approach vehicles the best one is Submarine Kosatka. This is an obvious choice, since you already own the submarine and it's great for stealthy gameplay. Use it to approach the drainage tunnel and break into the compound.
Out of four possible equipment choices the best are Fingerprint Cloner, Cutting Torch, and Plasma Cutter. You will need the cloner to open the safe at the compound, which is impossible otherwise; the torch is most suitable for cutting through the drainage tunnel; and the plasma cutter is needed to steal the diamond.
Out of five possible weapon loadouts the best one is Aggressor. It includes a fully automatic assault rifle, a submachine gun, a machete, and a grenade. Also, be sure to purchase a suppressor for $5,000, which is a must for stealth.
Out of three possible disruption set-ups the best one is Armor. It removes the protective helmets off of the guards, so you can easily headshot them all.
The Finale
In the last menu select the Main Dock as the escape point, since El Rubio's thugs will seal off the drainage tunnel. Also, pick night as the time of the day for stealth.
All Casino Heist Entrances
After all the preparations you can start the actual heist following these steps:
- Approach the drainage tunnel and cut open the grate
- Enter the El Rubio's compound
- Go to the underground vault (yellow marker on the map)
- Use your Fingerprint Cloner to unlock it
- Use your Cutting Torch on the lock
- Use your Plasma Cutter on the protective shield
- Steal the pink diamond
- Escape the compound through the Main Dock
Use the boat at the dock to reach the submarine and this will end the Cayo Perico Heist job.

Casino Scoping
Start by identifying the access points and the important elements of the Casino.
During your scope, you'll take pictures for Lester.
Tip: On your first mission, Lester will let you know when all important access points / items have been spotted and stop the count.
Access Points to the Diamond Casino
- Main Door – located the front of the Casino
- Side Doors – take pictures each door keypad, there’s one on the back and one on the left side
- Roof Terrace – four keypads, one just before the pool (on the left side), one behind the bar (down the stairs), two around the back.
- Security Tunnel – garage door located in the tunnel under the racetrack at the back of the Casino
- Roof – two keypads on doors on each side of the helipad
- Sewer Tunnel – near the river past the racetrack, across the street from the casino, you'll find the entrance to the sewer tunnel. Get inside and you'll find a gate on your right.
Main points of interest
- Security Guard – standing next to the elevator by the front desk
- Keypad – on the casino floor, next to restricted access doors
- 1st Security Camera – on the ceiling of the main casino rooms
- 2nd Security Camera – on the roof and roof terrace
- Valet – outside by the Casino front door
- Vault Blueprints – (required VIP membership) on the desk in the management office, accessible by going through the Inside Track room, and into a door down the side hallway.
Yung Ancestor
You can also unlock the Big Con approach via Yung Ancestor by going to the Diamond Terrace, a cutscene will trigger and he will contact you afterward. This is also how you will unlock the reduced rate on the Grotti Furia which is his personal vehicle that he will offer you to use as an escape vehicle.

- Carpeted room – POI pops as soon as you switch to this view

- Blue door – In the corridor with the elevator and blue door, pan to the door on the left

Approach selection
After discovering the contents of the vault, you will be able to choose one of three approaches to the heist: Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con, or Aggressive.
The Silent & Sneaky approach will allow you to enter the casino and get rid of the guards with complete discretion, as long as you stay on and don't make yourself heard by the other guards.
The Big Con approach will use disguises that allow you to break into the Casino, but not all guards will be fooled.
The Aggressive approach will be the most violent, equipped with heavy weapons you will kill the guards without states of heart to arrive at the vault.
The approaches have three possible statuses:
- Without post-it: Heist is available on normal difficulty
- Post-it padlock: The heist is unavailable because you have just completed this approach
- Skull Post-it: The heist is available in hard (possible after completing the heist approach, then another approach to remove the Skull Post-it), this approach provides higher gains due to its difficulty.
Tips !
Once the three approaches are completed, you will be able to unlock the ability to phone Lester and cancel the heist to change the contents of the vault, you will lose the $ 25,000 in initial costs by canceling the heist.

Tips and tricks
- Enter through the arcade room garage to get to the heist preparation room more quickly.
- If you don't like the content of the vault and if you have completed all the 3 approaches, you can call Lester and cancel the heist to change the content of the vault. You will lose the $25,000 initial fees by canceling the heist.
- It is possible to tune the getaway vehicles once the recovery mission is completed. Enter the vehicle in the basement of the arcade room to tune it.
- During the heist you can also grab some extra cash from the secret vault, which is on the ground floor right next to the elevator. The switch to open up the secret vault door is in the CCTV room next to the elevator. You can expect somewhere between $20,000 to $100,000 to be in there.
You can grab this vault content twice during the Silent & Sneaky approach, once on your way to the main vault and once on your way back up to the exit.
